While I watch the snow fall and blanket my yard one last time for the year, excitement runs through me. Why? Because I know spring is near!!! As much as I love summer, the transition from winter to spring is what I crave from the beginning of November. This transition makes me fully appreciate what comes next.
So often in life, we focus on the final destination and want to rush through the transition. The transition is what makes the final destination so special. When we step on our mat, remember to find bliss in the transitions and the growth that will take place. The transitions make our practice special, as well as life. The final pose is a reminder of the bittersweet growth and change that took place.
I hope you have fun working on this month’s pose, Utthita Hasta Padangustasana! Remember, love the transition! The final pose WILL come!
Sending light and love!

Yoga Pose of the Month
(as seen in the picture above)
Extended Hand-To-Big-Toe, Utthita Hasta Padangustasana
There are so many things going on in this pose, which is why I love it! It will challenge your balance, core strength and hamstring flexibility.
- Warm up before trying!
- Try it lying on your back before standing.
- Use a yoga strap around the foot rather than hooking the toe.
- Ground standing foot into the floor.
- Use lower abdominal muscles to help lengthen through the sides of the waist.
