Curious, but how is your yoga practice going? I have been making a conscious effort to be much more consistent with my own practice. During the pandemic, I have been teaching so many privates online that somewhere along the way, I stopped allowing myself time to practice.
So, speaking of, I was taking a class with Kathryn Budig, obviously online, and she started talking about the countdowns that many teachers often do. I must admit, I am not a counter downer, ha. But, what she said really stuck with me and I wanted to share it with you.
During a yoga class, (and, it could be during some other type of fitness class) teachers often count down 5-4-3-22222-1. Kathryn talks about how often teachers take their time on that #2. Sometimes those final moments seem to take forever. But, sometimes we need to pause in that moment. Sometimes we are not ready for the transition. And, we often need resilience to get us through that final countdown. This is applicable to life on the mat and off.
Right now, I feel stuck at #2. I feel like we are all so close to the finish line, yet we are still waiting to hear that final #1. I’m still waiting to hit the ground running. I’m ready. And, I know there are so many lessons in this pause, but I’m ready to get back out there. I’m ready to see you in person. Teach you in person, travel with you and explore the world. I’m ready. But, I’ll wait, patiently (maybe not) at #2. I will try to maintain resilience. Let’s use this week’s mantra to guide us…
I am resilient.
I am resilient.
I am resilient.
Enjoy your week!
With love and gratitude,
