Perfectly Imperfect
My new favorite phrase, mantra, description, call it what you will, is PERFECTLY IMPERFECT. I used it to describe my 15 year old marriage last week, but then it began to resonate with me on so many different levels.
I very rarely question my path and my journey because I know it is exactly what it should be and I am exactly where I need to be. But, there are those moments when I wish I looked better, felt better, worked harder and offered more. I have moments when I question my energy, motivation and image. But, then, this beautiful phrase awakened my soul and changed my blurry vision.
Learning to recognize your perceived imperfections can be easy, but learning to love them is a whole other story. What if we were all “perfect”? How boring would we all be? Our differences make us who we are. Our differences make our journeys unique. Our differences bring us together. Our imperfections are our beautiful trademarks, our unique branding; they are our way to stand out from the crowd.
So, rather than hide, change or eliminate your imperfections, can you make them a perfect part of you? Can you see them as perfectly imperfect? This is not easy. This will always remain a challenge, but it is a great attitude to strive towards maintaining. It is a great place to be. It is a great way to think and feel.
When we start seeing the perfectly imperfect, life becomes less complicated and more real. We notice where we are, who we are and stop striving for something else, but rather learn to accept ourselves and our journey. Stop comparing and start seeing with eyes of love rather than judgement.
I hope you enjoy this week’s mantra and hold on to it longer than a week!
I am perfectly imperfect.
Life is perfectly imperfect.
My (Fill in the blank. Pick something you struggle to see as perfect.) is perfectly imperfect.
The Light in Me, Honors the BEAUTIFUL Light within you!
