I will be a bright spot.

A few weeks ago, I was listening to yet another Dax Shepard, Armchair Expert, podcast. On this episode, Drew Barrymore was being interviewed. Make sure to listen to the whole podcast. She is so honest and open, which is so refreshing. But, one thing she said, resonated with me so much that I needed to stop and replay it a few times. Then, of course, I wrote it down to share with you all.

I want to be a bright spot, not a blind spot.

The statement seems so simple, yet I feel like it is overflowing with great meaning. What if this was our mantra when engaging with others? We don’t need to help others forget what they are going through, but rather just be there as a bright spot, a positive source of energy. For me, I never try to sugarcoat things, but I do try to be that bright light that is often missing out there. There is enough negative energy. There is enough bad news. There is enough… So, this week and onward, let’s focus on how we can be someone’s bright spot? We will use our mantra to guide us.

I will be a bright spot.

I will be a bright spot.

I will be a bright spot.

Sending you all love and hugs!
