Summer seems to be coming to an end. For me, this seems extremely strange since the normal events that mark the end of summer have not taken place. No Musikfest this year. No celebrating my birthday for days and often weeks on end with lots and lots of people. And, no preparing for an epic long trip to Europe for September. I do not recognize August this year, except for the heat, but I guess I do not recognize this year at all. I will never deny my struggle with 2020, but moving and looking forward is what keeps me going.
My mantras lately have been messages to myself as well as messages and energy I want to put out into the Universe. And, three words that constantly resurface are patient, kind, and confident. I have tried my best to see things from others’ perspectives throughout this entire craziness, although that can often be a challenge. Patience with others and myself has been a struggle. Patience has been hard.
I have tried to be kind to those who need it most and to those who may not have shown me kindness. I have learned a lot about people over the last few months. And, despite the way some may treat me, I want to continue to be kind. I truly believe that we need to be the change we want to see in the world. So, keep spreading kindness no matter how challenging it may be and no matter how others treat you.
Despite being kind and patient, I think we all need to maintain confidence. I have rarely struggled with confidence throughout my life and 2020 has put my confidence to the test on a personal and professional level. For me, it has been harder than ever to stick up for myself. I find myself giving in and giving up a lot. I need to remind myself daily to stay grounded and be confident. We can still be kind while being confident.
These three words, Patient, Kind and Confident, fill my morning ritual and I often come back to them throughout the day. Let’s use these words to help us create change inside and out. This week’s mantra:
Be Patient, Kind and Confident
Be Patient, Kind and Confident
Be Patient, Kind and Confident
