This week marks the beginning of my travel season and it lasts until the Fall. On Friday, I head off to Amsterdam with an amazing group to explore art, architecture, fabulous food and of course get in some yoga together. Then, at the end of the month, I head back to Sicily to visit an amazing villa that I am hoping will be the perfect spot for a Sicily Adventure in Spring in 2021. Keep those eyes peeled!! Then, in May, I am off to Spain to teach two back to back retreats. Then, back to Italy in September and November looking for more locations for all of us. There is so much to see out there. Oh and don’t forget, I will be in Greece hosting a Yoga and Sail Adventure in September. Whoa!! There is a lot going on in 2020.
But, despite how fabulous this all sounds, all of this, always has these What If’s playing back and forth in my brain. What If the weather isn’t perfect? What If someone doesn’t like a meal? What if someone doesn’t get along with their roomie? What if my travel does not go perfectly? What If, What If, What If??? It can drive anyone insane and it does. I wake up with them. I goto sleep with them. They float into my brain throughout the day. Ugh… But, I am trying really hard this year, to let them go.
In yoga, we call this the monkey mind; this internal monologue that is constantly chatting away. Our goal is to move on our yoga mat so that we can tame and quiet the monkey mind. In addition, the Two Minute Morning, which asks us to Let Go, provides a great opportunity to write down those What If’s as a reminder to let them go. This is all extremely hard and once the chatter stops, it often sneaks back in. But, with this week’s mantra, let’s do our best to let them go.
I will let the What If’s go.
I will let the What If’s go.
I will let the What If’s go.
Good Luck! And, since I will be traveling next week and chillin with my students, mantras will resume after my return!
With gratitude,
XO – L
