We all have been doing things differently. We all have been forced to reroute and reorganize our lives. We have all been forced to take a pause. As a planner and someone who is often focused on what is next, this has all been extremely challenging for me. Because, we do not know what is next. So, we have been forced to focus on the moment rather than the future. Although being present is one of the major focal points of yoga, I often struggle with it. My mind loves to wander and dream about the next adventure, the next project, the next phase…
So, as we are all still under stay at home orders, let’s wander less about what is next and rather let’s focus on what is now. I have been reading through some books I have never finished and came across, Maria Shriver’s, “I’ve been Thinking” where she sums up my thoughts perfectly…”Today is a new day. May we all take a moment to pause, take a deep breath, and move forward with the knowledge that this moment is all we have.” So, rather than focus on the next turn of events, let’s focus on today; let’s focus on now. This week’s mantra:
This moment is all we have.
This moment is all we have.
This moment is all we have.
Staying Afloat
