When moving through moments of stress or when trying to overcome challenging obstacles, we often tell ourselves it could be worse; we should be happy with what we have or where we are; we should be grateful; we should just smile and move on… We hear it in our heads and we hear it from others.
I do believe that much of that is true and eventually we need to move on and prevail, but sometimes we need to tell ourselves and we need to simply hear from others that, I understand. So, this week before you dismiss your struggles and tell yourself they are not worthy of any frustration or angst, tell yourself, I understand. When someone else tells you their obstacles, take a moment to listen and relate rather than trying to fix the problem for them or trying to dilute it with words.
This week..Listen to yourself. Listen to others. And, simply take a moment to understand.
