Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder.

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder image
Today’s topic is a little touchy and a little too personal for most. But, it is one that has been plaguing my mind and heart my whole life and I am assuming it has been plaguing yours as well.
When you look in the mirror, what do you see? When you evaluate who you are internally and externally, what do you say to yourself? Do you judge? Do you say hurtful things? Do you compare yourself to others? Would you say these things to someone else?
As children, we were told to love others, but were we told to love ourselves? We often lack this ability to care, love and nurture ourselves, but we can do all these things for others without hesitation.
This winter has definitely plagued my heart and soul with a little despair and a little too much time to self-criticize. As I am crawling out from hibernation, I am hopeful that spring will bring a new sense of positive perception and joy back into my life. I share this because I know many of you have these same moments, but somehow, knowing others do too, make them a little more bearable.
As the days get longer, and hopefully warmer, I encourage you to sit, breathe and concentrate on what makes you beautiful inside and out. As you exhale, let your stress and negative thoughts melt down into the floor. As you inhale, breathe in positive and healing energy. And, remember…

“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny.”
-Mahatma Gandhi
