This adventure will take place in the picturesque seaside village of Vietri sul Mare, where the
mountains meet the sea and where tourists are few.
Take a dip in the sea, hike along a path to another village, learn to cook local cuisine or simply
sit and sip wine.
This 6 night/ 7 day adventure will take place along the beautiful Amalfi Coast. We will explore the coastline via boat, hike to hilltop villages, visit a seaside winery and learn to cook local specialties. Our mornings will begin in our private palazzo overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Here, we will enjoy breakfast, yoga and time in the exquisite gardens. Our afternoons will be spent exploring coastal villages, taking dips in the sea and enjoying la dolce vita (the sweet life). Evenings will be spent enjoying amazing food, wine and vistas. This adventure will pleasure all senses. Bonus: Our fully-staffed palazzo only has 8 rooms keeping this adventure extremely intimate.
We have all heard of The Amalfi Coast, including the towns of Sorrento, Amalfi and Positano. You may have heard of some other smaller villages as well, but most likely, you have never heard of Vietri sul Mare. This stunning seaside village is tucked away between Maiori and Salerno making it the most southern village of The Amalfi. From here, views of Salerno, Capri and the Mediterranean are all breathtaking. Vietri’s perfect location allows for exploration of the coastline without an overwhelming number of tourists. It also has some of the largest sandy beaches along the coastline. From our private Palazzo, you can walk directly to the beach.
Throughout Italy and the world, Vietri is famously known for its ceramics. Often, the dinnerware used throughout all of Italy is manufactured in this small seaside village. Ceramics are sold throughout the village and a visit inside the main factory is possible allowing for a perfect souvenir from this trip.
Your home away from home for this adventure will be a hillside, fully-staffed private Palazzo (Palace) overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and The Amalfi Coastline. Upon entering the property, from the top or the bottom, you will be surrounded by stunning terraced gardens filled with citrus plants, aromatic herbs and colorful flowers. Here, we will enjoy breakfast on the terrace, yoga in the gardens, aperitivo while watching the sun melt into the sea, dinners under the stars and cooking lessons in the magnificent dining room with our private chef. There will also be plenty of time to relax in the gardens, enjoy the jacuzzi with sea views, read a book in our private library, wonder the halls and admire the frescoed walls and walk to the beach from our perfectly located Palazzo.
Palazzo Suriano is conveniently located only 3 miles from the Vietri sul Mare Train Station, 6 miles from the Salerno High Speed Train Station and 30 miles from the Naples Airport.

Delux and Superior Rooms all have windows with sea views that open allowing fresh breezes to enter. There are three of these rooms available in the main building.

Dependance Due Gabbiani Rooms: Located in the gardens and in an independent building, recently renovated, with two bedrooms, both with balconies and with beautiful sea views. This would be great for a group of friends to share since the rooms are in it’s on private building and are attached to each other. However, each room has its own private entrance.

Please Note: All outdoor activities are weather permitting. Everyone’s safety will remain the priority when arranging the daily agenda.
The Palazzao is only a few minutes from the Vietri sul Mare Train Station and only 20 minutes from the Salerno Train Station, which has high speed trains from other major train stations throughout Italy.
The Naples Airport and the City Center is only a 45/50 minute drive to the Palazzo. The train from Naples to Salerno is 40 minutes.
Rome International Airport is a 3 hour drive; however, the fast train from Rome to Salerno is only 1.5 – 2 hours.
In addition, there are ferries that run to Vietri sul Mare from other locations along the Amalfi Coast.
Transfers
Approximate cost for transfers are below. Cost will be confirmed at booking. Please contact Rocciola Travel to arrange all transfers at info@rocciolatravel.com.
Rome to or from Vietri: €600 for up to 14 ppl, €500 for up to 8 ppl, €450 for 2ppl.
Naples to or from Vietri: €220 for up to 14 ppl, €150 for up to 8 ppl, €120 for 2ppl.

Most flights arriving to Italy from the United States will be red-eyes. Please plan to depart the evening prior to the start of the retreat or beforehand. The closest airport is Naples; however, Rome is the best option and will have the most affordable prices. From there, you can take a train to Naples or Salerno placing you close to Vietri sul Mare. Or, you can have a driver take you directly to the Palazzo. Renting a car is also a great option as Vietri is directly off the highway not requiring you to drive along the main road of The Amalfi Coast.
When planning departure flights from Italy to the United States, please consider travel time to the airport. Most guests plan to spend one evening in Rome or the surrounding area prior to departure reducing the very early departure required from Vietri sul Mare. Most flights from Rome will depart between 9:30-11:00AM.
